Drowning is preventable. That's why the Y has been committed to making aquatics programs accessible to all ages and income levels for over 100 years. By providing kids and adults with the tools they need to be confident in and around water, we can help save lives.
SAFETY AROUND THE WATER PROGRAM
The Y’s Safety Around the Water Program is offered year-round at our Ys or at pre-approved sites throughout Palm Beach County and offered to qualified groups at no cost. This program is evidence-based and developed on a foundation of “Safety First, Swim Second.” and is geared for ages 3-17.
In celebration of National Water Safety month, the YMCA of South Palm Beach County's provides one week of FREE 30-minute swim lessons every year in May for children who do not know how to swim. Lessons are offered at both our Boynton and Boca YMCA branches. Our next Safety Around Water week is scheduled for:
WHEN: May 15-19, 2023
TIME: Between 4pm - 6pm
AGES: Between age 3-11 with little to no experience in the water.

Drowning Doesn't have a Season
Due to the generous funding from the PIEDT FAMILY SWIM SCHOLARSHIP, the Peter Blum Family YMCA in Boca offers FREE swim lessons to non-swimmers ages 3-11 in our community. Our next Drowning Doesn't have a Season program is scheduled for:
WHEN: May 30- June 2, 2023
TIME: 4p, 4:30p, 5p, 5:30p and 6p (30 minute lessons)
AGES: 3 -11 (with little to no experience in the water required)
WHERE: Peter Blum Family YMCA in Boca

Adaptive Needs Swim Program
The Y's Adaptive Needs Swim Program are for kids (ages 2+) and adults and include one-on-one swim lessons individually tailored for each participant. Individuals enrolled will participate in a simple intake process that will assist the Swim Instructors to develop an individualized lesson plan. CLICK HERE for more information.
WaterSmart Palm Beach County
As an effort to bring water safety and drowning prevention to the forefront of issues in Palm Beach County, the countywide Drowning Prevention Task Force "WaterSmart Palm Beach County" was created to bring water safety-minded individuals from all areas of the community together to solve issues around drowning prevention and provide access to safe and enjoyable water safety program to all. WaterSmart meets on a monthly basis.
