Group swim lessons at the YMCA are specifically tailored to the participant's age, swimming ability, level of physical development and confidence in the water. The YMCA ensures a low instructor-to-student ratio to ensure our kids get plenty of personal attention.
Find what best fits your schedule with sessions throughout the year. Sessions range from four to eight weeks.
Parent & Child: Ages six months through 36 months. With a parent in the pool, toddlers learn how to be comfortable and safe in, and around the water. Parents learn about water safety and drowning prevention.
Preschool Age: Ages three through five years. Kids learn safe water habits, underwater exploration, how to swim safely and exit the water. Lessons are a mix of activities, games, and drills.
Youth Age: Ages six through twelve years. Starting with water safety and basic swimming competency, kids progress to learn about the 4 competitive strokes.
Teen/Adult: 13 years and up. Teens and adults can begin to learn about water safety and continue to learn and refine skills in the four competitive strokes.
