Family Time in February
It seems as if “family time” is a foreign word these days. The week is spent shuffling between school pickups, drop-offs, running errands and after-school practices. When the weekend finally arrives, there are soccer games to be attended to and dance rehearsals to sit through and suddenly ‘family time’ gets to take the back seat.
Being an organization which pushes for family activities, the Y has taken into account the epidemic that is, setting aside time just for the family. To enjoy the kids and spouse without the hustle and bustle of life and to be electronic free, living the moments through your eyes and not through your camera lenses and social media.
The Boynton Beach YMCA has brought back their “Family Camp Out,” an event that will not only bring you closer to nature, but to each other as well. Featuring s’mores, campfire food and of course, a bonfire, family bonding is a guarantee.
Hitch a tent and enjoy a night under the stars at the Y. Make memories that your little ones will remember years from now. Tell scary ghost stories and eat one too many s’mores with the kids. This event will take place on February 10th at 4pm going until the 11th at 8am.
The Peter Blum Y in Boca will be having their annual “Party on the Patio” event. This event is open to all, so bring your friends! Food trucks, music and games will be enjoyed from 4:30-6:30pm.
Enjoy a dinner that you don’t have to cook, leaving you able to spend more quality time with the family. Even better- you don’t even have to do the dishes.
So there you have it, a PSA from the Y telling you to get out and enjoy one of our family activities next month because we know that you not only want to, but you need to.
