We welcome guardians to visit our preschool as often as they like.  Preschool tours are required prior to enrollment. To schedule your tour or register for our program, please contact our preschool by calling 237-0967. Drop in tours are welcome Monday through Friday between the hours of 10:00 and 11:00 a.m.

Preschool Program
The Countess de Hoernle Youth Learning Center is dedicated to providing young children with a developmentally appropriate, year round preschool education.

  • Curriculum philosophy based on the Reggio Emilia approach, which respects the ideas, interests and development of each child.
  • Accepts children ages 14 months through 5years.
  • Classrooms are designed to provoke exploration, curiosity & creativity.
  • Swim instruction for children, ages 3 and older.
  • Provider in the state funded VPK program.
  • 5 day, 3 day, and 2 day programs available (2-5 years old).

After School Program

  • Operates from school dismissal to 6:30 p.m.
  • Youth ages 5 to 14 years old. 
  • Outdoor and indoor sports, homework time, arts and crafts, computers, recreational swimming and clubs.
  • Swimming lessons, dance lessons and Youth Sports are available for an additional fee.
  • Transportation from your child’s school may be provided. 

Exceptional Child Program
Inclusion Opportunities for Children with Challenges

  • Children with disabilities are invited to join all programs
  • Our staff is available for your special needs child in following programs: After School, Day/Week Camp, and Teen After School.

Teen Leaders Club

  • Safe place for social time with other teens.
  • Dedicated staff that help teens develop leadership skills, participate in service projects and refine employment skills.
  • Special events and field trips take place throughout the year.

Child Watch

Our YMCA provides short-term programming for children 6 weeks to 5 years old, while their guardians participate in YMCA activities. Children are not permitted in exercise classes or to be left alone anywhere in the building. The Child Watch area has a two-hour time limit.

Members with a Family Membership: no charge; Members with an Adult Membership: $5 per month; Program Participants, $5 per visit.

Monday - Friday mornings 8:00 a.m.  -   1:00 p.m.

Monday - Thursday evening  3:00 p.m.  -  9:00 p.m.

Friday evenings  4:30 p.m.  -  8:00 p.m.

Saturday Morning  8:00 a.m. -  1:00 p.m.

YMCA Adventure Guides
(Formerly known as the Y-Indian Guides Program)

  • This parent-child program is designed to help foster and strengthen the relationship between children and parents. 
  • Groups of father & son/daughter and mother & son/daughter are developed according to geographic area.  Approximately 12 families are in each group. 
  • Children, 4 years and older, may participate.
