The Prime Time and YMCA Community Partnership:

Prime Time Palm Beach County, Inc. is a non-profit, intermediary organization dedicated to quality school-age afterschool programs. Since its inception, Prime Time has gathered support and momentum among key stakeholders in our county by reaching out into the community, convening meetings and forums among providers, parents, educators and donors, and determinedly broadcasting the need for accessible, affordable, quality afterschool programs.

With a goal of providing varied and engaging experiences for Palm Beach County’s young people, Prime Time partners with local community organizations and individuals to offer an array of program supports and enhancements at no cost to the youth provider community. These include both long-term and short-term program enhancements in the following fields:

  • Arts and Culture
  • Academics
  • Sports and Recreation
  • Career Explorations
  • Health and Nutrition

Short-term curricula range from five to eight sessions. These programs serve as an introduction to a particular field or skill. Arts and Culture program enhancements are delivered by the Center for Creative Education. The Sports and Wellness program enhancements are delivered by the YMCA of South Palm Beach County.   Prime Time provides the equipment from our Lending Library and pays for instructors or for provider staff to be trained in delivery of the activity.

The YMCA of South Palm Beach County and Prime Time of Palm Beach County have joined in partnership to strengthen and expand the Sports and Wellness programming during the afterschool hours. Calling upon the experiences of both Prime Time and the YMCA, this program ultimately benefits the children and staff at more than 100 afterschool sites throughout Palm Beach County.  Through this partnership, the Sports and Wellness enhancement offerings range from the traditional soccer and flag football programs, to new innovative programs such as Speed Stacking, Step, Hooked on Fishing, Zumba and Socci. Participating children benefit by experiencing new activities, developing self-confidence and team building skills creating healthier and stronger kids and communities.
