The Helen and Richard DeVos Aquatic Center

  • Enjoy swim lessons, aqua fitness, lap swimming, and fun in our newly expanded aquatic center.
  • The Aquatic center contains two pools – a fitness pool and a recreational/family pool.
  • Water attractions include a 50 -foot serpentine slide, water buckets, water sprays and zero-depth entry area.
  • The Aquatic Center opens 15 minutes after the facility opens and closes 15 minutes before the facility closes.
  • Aqua classes provide a fun and social workout atmosphere!

Fitness Swim
Lanes are available for swimmers throughout the day.

Water Fitness:
Stay heart healthy and happy with water fitness. Experience improvements in joint stability, coordination, balance, flexibility, and muscular strength. You incorporate cardio and strength using water dumbbells, float belts and water gloves. Water is good on the joints.Reduce weight-bearing effects on your body while building endurance and toning muscles.

Group Swim Lessons(Pre-registration is required for all classes)

  • The YMCA of the USA’s swim lesson program provides students with over 350 swimming and safety skills, such as personal safety, stroke development and knowledge of water sports.
  • Our programs teach aquatic safety while allowing the student to adjust to the water at their own pace.
  • Weekday classes run twice a week for 4 weeks, and weekend classes run every weekend for 8 weeks.

Parent and Child (6 – 36 months old)
This program is a water orientation class designed for parent and child participation. Parents accompany their children in the water. The class encourages the bond of trust between parent and child and teaches parents how to guide and supervise their children around the water. Classes focus on safe water exploration, proper holding and towing techniques, safe water entry and exit, with instructor- led songs and games. All children are required to wear swim pants in the water.

Preschool (3-5 years old)
The purpose of the program is to develop competency in swimming, along with confidence and endurance. A child is advanced to the next level only when he or she can proficiently and safely perform the skill within his or her level. The preschool swim program has four levels: Pike, Eel, Ray and Starfish all designed to help children progress and build elementary swimming and safety skills. Class ratios are 6:1 for all pre-school lessons. Children are placed in small groups with the YMCA trained instructors. Classes emphasize developing personal growth, personal safety, water acclimation and basic skills, beginning rescue and to have fun.

School Aged (6 years and older)
The purpose of the program is to develop competency in swimming, along with confidence and endurance. A child is advanced to the next level only when he or she can proficiently and safely perform the skills within his or her level. The Youth swim program has four levels: Polliwog, Guppy, Minnow and Fish. The progression is designed to help children grow personally and develop strokes and safety skills. Class ratios are 8:1 for Polliwog and Guppy and 10:1 for advanced levels. Emphasis is on endurance, personal safety, skill development and lifesaving techniques.

Private Swim Instruction
Private lessons (1 on 1) and Semi Private Lessons (2 on 1). Have a favorite instructor? Request him or her for 1 on 1 lessons at the convenience of your schedules. 6 personal lessons! Stop at the Welcome Center desk for registration and fee information.

ISR Infant Swimming Resource
ISR is recognized as the safest provider of self-rescue swimming lessons for children 6 months to 6 years of age. Please call 561-374-0577 for more information.

Red Cross Lifeguarding courses
are offered monthly here at the YMCA. Please contact Jennifer Daratany at jdaratany@ymcaspbc.org for registration dates, fees, and more.

Splash and Swim Parties
Host your child’s birthday part in our YMCA Aquatic Center. Pool & party room are provided.

Barracuda Swim Team
Competitive swim team for youths ages 5-18 years. Swim team seasons are continuous throughout the year. Practices are Monday - Thursday 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Participants must complete a try-out to enroll. Please contact Jennifer Daratany at (561) 237-0951 for further information.

Master's Adult Swim Team
Keep in shape, improve stroke technique and build endurance. Master's adult swim program is continuous throughout the year. Practices are Tuesday and Thursday 8:00 - 9:00 p.m. Prerequisite for enrollment is the ability to swim 100 yards continuously.
