The Helen and Richard DeVos Aquatic Center
- Enjoy swim lessons, aqua fitness, lap swimming, and fun in our newly expanded aquatic center.
- The Aquatic center contains two pools – a fitness pool and a recreational/family pool.
- Water attractions include a 50 -foot serpentine slide, water buckets, water sprays and zero-depth entry area.
- The Aquatic Center opens 15 minutes after the facility opens and closes 15 minutes before the facility closes.
- Aqua classes provide a fun and social workout atmosphere!

Fitness Swim
Lanes are available for swimmers throughout the day.
Water Fitness:
Stay heart healthy and happy with water fitness. Experience improvements in joint stability, coordination, balance, flexibility, and muscular strength. You incorporate cardio and strength using water dumbbells, float belts and water gloves. Water is good on the joints.Reduce weight-bearing effects on your body while building endurance and toning muscles.

PARENT/CHILD SWIM LESSONS (6-36 months old with parent)
SHRIMP, KIPPER, INIA, PERCH - This course is designed to develop a sense of comfort and familiarity with the water. It is taught through group instruction utilizing songs, games and other fun activities. Children work on basic movement in the water while being supported by the parent. This course introduces new skills when the parent and child are ready to learn. Children that are not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper.
PRESCHOOL SWIM LESSONS (3-5 years old w/o parent)
PIKE - This course is an introduction to basic swimming skills. Children enter this level with little or no water experience. The instructor helps the child to develop a sense of comfort and familiarity with the water and introduces new skills when the child is ready.
EEL - This course is a continuation for developing basic swimming skills. Children enter this level with a sense of comfort in the water. The instructor helps to develop a sense of independent movement in the water.
RAY - This course is an introduction to stroke development skills. Children enter this level with the ability to swim 15 feet independently on their front and back. The instructor introduces the child to the core swimming strokes of front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, and sidestroke.
STARFISH- This course is a continuation of stroke development skills. Children enter this level with a previous introduction to front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, and sidestroke. The instructor refines basic strokes and encourages the child to swim a distance of 40 feet independently. Completion of this course or the ability to perform skills taught in this course is a prerequisite for the Barracuda Youth Swim Team.

School Aged (6 - 11 years)
POLLIWOG - This course is an introduction to basic swimming skills. Children enter this level with little or no water experience. The instructor helps the child to develop a sense of comfort in the water and the ability to swim 15 yards using basic movements without assistance.
GUPPY - This course is a continuation for developing basic swimming skills. Children enter this level with the ability to swim 15 yards without assistance. The instructor assists the child in being confident to use basic swimming skills for a distance of 25 yards without assistance. The instructor introduces sidestroke, breaststroke, and elementary backstroke with assistance. Completion of the course or the ability to perform skills taught in this course is a prerequisite for the Youth Swim Team.
MINNOW - This course is an introduction to intermediate swimming skills. Children enter this level with the ability to swim 25 years independently on their front and back. The instructor encourages the child to perform front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, elementary backstroke, and sidestroke without assistance.
FISH- This course is a continuation of intermediate swimming skills. Children enter this level with the ability to perform rudimentary front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, elementary backstroke, and sidestroke without assistance. The instructor helps the child to refine these skills and build endurance to swim these stokes a distance of 50 yards.
ADULT (12 and older)
This course is designed to develop basic swimming skills or build upon current swimming skills for stroke development. Individuals may enter this course with no previous water experience or with the ability to use basic movement in the water. The instructor will personalize the course to meet each individual's swimming needs and goals.
Private Swim Instruction
Private lessons (1 on 1) and Semi Private Lessons (2 on 1). Have a favorite instructor? Request him or her for 1 on 1 lessons at the convenience of your schedules. 6 personal lessons! Stop at the

Splash and Swim Parties
Host your child’s birthday part in our YMCA Aquatic Center. Pool & party room are provided.
Barracuda Swim Team
Competitive swim team for youths ages 5-18 years. Swim team seasons are continuous throughout the year. Practices are Monday - Thursday 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Participants must complete a try-out to enroll. Please contact Jennifer Daratany at (561) 237-0951 for further information.
Master's Adult Swim Team
Keep in shape, improve stroke technique and build endurance. Master's adult swim program is continuous throughout the year. Practices are Tuesday and Thursday 8:00 - 9:00 p.m. Prerequisite for enrollment is the ability to swim 100 yards continuously.
