Youth Programming:
Self Defense:
Our Self Defense program gives children the mental and physical skills to succeed in everything they do. These classes are challenging and fun while we encourage every child to strive to do their personal best. In addition to physical skills that will increase strength, coordination and flexibility, we teach life skills such as discipline, goal setting, confidence, leadership and respect. Students learn to see and achieve goals, while building self esteem in a fun, safe and educational atmosphere.
Community Wellness:
Empower ME! Is a new health and wellness awareness program for youth the will be offered at the Y from October - December. Click here for more information.
Family Fitness:
We will provide fitness and recreational activities that the entire family can enjoy together. Activities will vary weekly.
Swim Lessons:
Swimming and safety skills are taught in a group setting. Parents do not accompany their swimmer into the pool; however they are welcome and encouraged to stay and observe all classes. Lessons are divided into smaller sub groups according to ability.
Splash and Swim:
Water sports for the whole family. Have some fun in the pool with games, races or volleyball. Great exercise for the entire family. Water depths from 3’6” to 5’4”.
Tap & Ballet:
Developmental dance program which includes the basics of ballet, tap and creative movement.
Capoeria:
It's Martial Art! It's a Dance! It's totally Brazilian. It relieves stress, builds strength, coordination adn self-confidence.
Youth Strength:
Learn proper training techniques, fitness floor etiquette and proper use of the fitness equipment. After completion, the participant may use the fitness floor.
Afternoon Adventures (2pm-6pm):
A fun place to let your child make friends, have fun and be productive. Kids will have snack time and study hall before splitting up into the club of their choice. Transportation is provided from: Citrus Cove Elementary, Freedom Shores Elementary, Hidden Oaks Elementary, Manatee Elementary and Hagen Ranch Elementary and Sunset Palms Elementary.

Club ShowBiz (4pm-6pm):
This club is intended to bring out the inner star. The focus is on improvisation, theater and TV news skills. Kids will put on shows and create their own weekly Y news. (Mon & Wed) or (Tues & Thurs) * Grades: 2-5
Club Athlete (4pm-6pm):
This club promotes a well rounded view of sports. Every week children will learn fun facts and the fundamentals of a new sport. This is not just a club to play sports but a club to implement true sportsmanship and help build athletes through friendly competition.

Club Traditions (4pm-6 pm):
This club is geared for the child who like to do everything. They will participate in arts and crafts, Zumba, improve games, recreational sports and more!

Kids Night Out - 4 - 11 years old
Drop off the kids for a fun-filled night at the DeVos-Blum Famly Y! Enjoy a night out on the town while the kids enjoy swimming, pizza, games and a movie! It's non-stop fun all night long. Kids Nights are held the 3rd Friday of the month. (program may change due to holidays.)
Time: 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Y Youth Sports
Y youth sports programs promote healthy kids, families and communities by placing a priority on family involvement, healthy competition, the value of participation over winning, and team building. Parents are encouraged to be more than mere spectators by contributing their time as volunteer coaches and team parents as well as being their kid’s number one fan.
Youth Sports at the Y include:
Soccer, Cheerleading, Basketball, Baseball, Flag Football, T-ball, and Volleyball

YMCA Youth Skills Clinics
Benefit from personal attention, individual vs. team play and fundament skill development. Clinics are designed to give players supplemental practice that they can apply in their league games. There will be no games just practices. If you want to be the best you have to learn how to practice. Practice makes perfect!
